Lynn Dempsey

Lynn (Fitzgibbon) Dempsey, 75, of Lost Creek went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2025, following a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 22, 1949 in Neenah WI to the late Harold Fitzgibbon and Sylvia (Gapinski) Fitzgibbon. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Paul, who passed away on July 27, 2023, and her two sisters Kathleen Fitzgibbon and Carol Fitzgibbon.

She is survived by her children: Brian Dempsey and wife Karen and children Ian, Olivia, Carson, Evelyn and Rosemary of PA, Christopher Dempsey and fiancé Leah Michael and children Camden and Catherine of West Milford, Rebecca Barker and children Coleton and Emmi of Lost Creek, Deborah Long and husband Corleone and children Noel and Caroline of VA, Joanna Dempsey of Fairmont and Elizabeth Dempsey and son Isaiah of Lost Creek; her sister Cindy Fitzgibbon of WI and her brother Tim Fitzgibbon and children Brynn and Jacob, all of WI; brother in law Pat Dempsey and wife Anne and children Ellen and Kate, all of MD, and sister in law Jean Marie Dempsey of PA. 

She was a selfless soul who dedicated herself to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, and later embracing the role of grandma with the same boundless love.

She found delight in music and audiobooks and enjoyed listening to her Bible on CD. She loved bargain shopping and shopping for homemade soaps at her favorite local shop, Sudsberry. 

She was passionate about cheering on her Greenbay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks. She was a member of Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood and loved her church family and music ministry dearly. 

Her strength, faith, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Our family would like to thank the UHC Hospital staff for their outstanding kindness and care for Lynn. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 17, 2025 with Pastor Charles Madaus officiating. Visitation hours will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., at Bible Baptist Temple 9436 Cost Ave, Stonewood, WV 26301. Online condolences can be made at www.DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
