Lyle Larue Ayers, Jr.

Lyle Larue Ayers, Jr., 77 of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at his residence. He was born on June 22, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late Lyle Ayers Sr. and Nancy Lou Golden Ayers.

Lyle is survived by his companion, Jennifer Sue Drake; children, Dwayne “Scott” Ayers of Fairmont, Sabrina Flint and husband Donald Flint III of Clarksburg, adopted son, Nic Polson of Fairmont; one granddaughter, Pamela Jean Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Edward Ayers; a grandson, Jesse Howard Johnson III.

Lyle was a 1966 graduate of Bridgeport High School and got his Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering at Indiana University. He served his country in the United States Army. Lyle retired with over 30 years as a supervisor of Pratt & Whitney. He loved playing golf, being at his cabin, and sitting outside to watch the birds and squirrels.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, West Virginia, on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM.
