Lois Jean Broadwater

Lois Jean Broadwater, 97 of Reynoldsville, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Clarksburg Healthcare Center. She was born July 4, 1927 in Finch, WV, daughter of the late WR Shorty Schofield and Golda Mulneix Schofield.                             

Lois graduated from Pennsboro High School. She was a member of the Reynoldsville Baptist Church for over 70 years. She had a true passion for cooking, baking, and cake decorating. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and laughter. Lois also had a love for the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing and gardening. Above it all, family was the heart of everything she did, time spent with them was her greatest joy.

Lois is survived by her three sons: Rodney A. Broadwater of Clarksburg, Terry L. Broadwater and spouse Sharon of Grafton, and Gregory G. Broadwater of Laurel Park; grandchildren: Heather Broadwater, Brian Broadwater, Jason Broadwater, Samantha Hutson, Marcus Broadwater, William Broadwater, and Sarah Broadwater; great-grandchildren: Anthony Broadwater, Toby Broadwater, Dean Sharp, Willow Broadwater, Jasmine Hutson, Ace Broadwater, Rosslyn Broadwater; Siblings, Carl Schofield of Medina, OH, and Vonda Taylor of Paden City, WV; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Burl G. Broadwater in 1990; one grandson, Christopher Broadwater; an infant granddaughter, Nevaeh Broadwater; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Broadwater; siblings: Denzil Schofield, Freeman Schofield, Robert Schofield, and Wilma “Wid” Schofield Tallman.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the staff at the Clarksburg Healthcare Center for all their love and care over the last few years.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 3:00 -7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jon Hayes officiating.
