Linda Susan Light Tate, 73 of Jane Lew passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at United Hospital Center. She was born on April 20, 1951, in Oak Hill, WV, the daughter of the late Ira Seldon and Betty Ruth Helmick Light. Linda was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Donald “Don” Eugene Tate on September 4, 2006 and whom she married on December 31, 1987.
Linda graduated from Collins High School in Oak Hill and attended Concord College. She worked many years with C&P/Verizon Telephone Co’s and finished her career at Tate Communication where she worked with her husband Don. She was a member of Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood.
Linda is survived by her sister, Pamela G Lewis and husband Ronald Davisville; nephew, Jason Lewis and wife Jamie; and a special great niece, Jordyn; sister-in-law, Lola Tate, Abingdon, VA; brother-in-law, Brad Tate (Diana); also surviving two stepdaughters, Debbie Tate and Becky Tate Burns and husband Bill; two step grandchildren, Toni Marie Conliff and William Burns; two special cousins, Geri Grago and Patty LaVay. Linda also leaves behind special caregivers who had cared for her over the years, two very special neighbors, Tom and Susan Bailey, many special friends and family also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda is preceded in death by her very special aunt and uncle, Van and Marie Helmick; four brothers-in-law, Dennis Blankenship, Glen Blankenship, Leo Tate, and James Tate; three sisters-in-law, Sandy Powell, Joann Smoot and Janice Hudson.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 with Pastor Charles Madaus officiating.
