Lillian “Susie” Sue Burnside, 80, of Clarksburg went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at United Hospital Center. Her son Mike was by her side holding her hand as she was transitioning from life on earth to Eternal Life in Heaven. She was born October 22, 1944 in Clarksburg, the daughter of the late Leonard Michael and Almira Elizabeth Myers Flanagan. Susie was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Richard Burnside on December 12, 2021 and whom she married on October 19, 1984. She graduated from Unidis High School, Class of 1962. She worked at Union National Bank and retired after twenty plus years from CNG Transmission, which would later become Dominion.
She loved playing piano, collecting hearts, spending time with friend’s, family, and Molly the cat. She enjoyed cooking meals for loved ones, even more so during the Holiday’s. She was Pentecostal by faith, had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and studied His word. She and her late husband, Jim were passionate about playing the Lord’s music and were called to be part of an anointed music ministry within their church. She played the piano and he played the bass guitar. She loved Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, the Message of the Cross, and the transformative power of God’s love. She was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother, even to some not biologically hers, but were always considered as her own. Susie had many friends, and we would like to thank them for faithfully praying, their calls, flowers, and cards.
Susie is survived by her son, Leonard “Mike” Michael Johnson and wife Jamie of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Alexis and Olivia Johnson; brother-in-law, Bill Vore, Wolf Summit; several nieces and nephews. She was known as Grammy B to many, especially by Gino and Franco DelSignore. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was proud of all their talents and accomplishments. In addition to her parents and husband, Susie was preceded in death by one sister, Sally Michael Vore.
