Leonard Erwin Riley, Sr.

Leonard Erwin Riley, Sr. 82, of Clarksburg, WV, gained his heavenly wings on January 21, 2025 after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Albert N. Riley and Leatha Delores Jones, of Nixon Hollow, Shinnston, WV.

He was an M-14 sharpshooter as well as a truck vehicle mechanic MOS:63C20 in the US Army from 1962 to 1965 with the Battery A 1st Battalion 75th Artillery and continued a career as a mechanic for many years after his honorable discharge. He also worked as a salesman and installer at Satellite Home TV in Bridgeport, WV.

He is survived by the love of his life, Emma G. (Griffin ) Riley of 60 years; one brother, Charles R. Riley of Bridgeport, WV.; four sons and three daughters: Jeffrey Wayne  Riley and his companion Angie  of Lowell, OH; Dennis Eugene Riley and his companion Amanda of Myrtle Beach, SC; James Bradley Riley of Smithfield, OH;  and Leonard E. Riley Jr. and his companion Amanda of Lumberport, WV; Ruby Delores (Riley) Toryak  and her husband John Stephen Toryak Jr. of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Angela Marie Riley and her companion Cindy of Morgantown, WV; and Sandra Mae (Riley) Miller and her husband Travis Miller of Bridgeport , WV. Mr. Riley has 22 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed watching football and basketball and was a Christian by faith. He had been under the care of Hospice for an extended time for which the family are greatly indebted. 

Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, Monday, January 27, 2025 from 3-7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:30AM with Pastor Joshua Sowards presiding. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
