Leona "Faye" Palmer Obituary

Leona Faye (Jackman) Palmer, 88 of Bridgeport passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Crestview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with family by her side. She was born June 3, 1934 in Hamilton, OH to the late Robert Morris and Dora Jeanetta (Young) Jackman.

Faye graduated from Hamilton High School. She lived in Cuyahoga Falls, Austintown, Painesville, OH, and Johnstown, PA before moving to West Virginia with her husband. She was employed as an office manager at Alker Tire & Supply, Dr. Gasper Barcinas’ office, and Bridgeport Tire & Supply and Meadowbrook Company in 1985. That same year, she and her husband Dean purchased TSS Photography. Faye worked at her regular job, as well as part time assistant to the family business for fourteen years. In 2000, she retired from Meadowbrook Co. and continued to work part time with her husband. In 2005, she began working full time as an office manager at TSS Photography, where her professionalism and pleasant personality were welcomed by customers and employees alike. The business was sold in 2009, when Faye and Dean began retirement which included traveling and enjoying their free time.

Faye enjoyed reading, needlework, traveling, making and sending greeting cards to family and friends, playing piano and keeping in touch with her grandchildren by e-mail and Facebook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dean Palmer on March 27, 2015.

She is survived by one daughter, Betsy A Straley (Russ) Mount Clare, two sons, Stephen R Montgomery (Carolyn) Cincinnati, OH, and Robert Dean Palmer (Lynn Ehmann), Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Matthew Dutchess (Julie), Amy Miller (David), and Kaleb Straley; four great grandchildren, Colton Dutchess, Grey Everett, Jameson Miller, and Ellie Miller, two siblings, Robert M Jackman Jr, Apollo, PA and Neil Jackman (Kathy), Hamilton, OH; two nieces, Kelly Land and Dona Cross, and two nephews, Scott Jackman and David Jackman.

A graveside service will be held at Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date. Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is handling the cremation and honored to serve the Palmer family.
