Lela Mae (Bryd) Posey

Lela Mae (Byrd) Posey, 84, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at 7:04 P.M. at the Sunbridge Nursing Home, Salem, following and extended illness. She was born on August 6, 1927 in Weston, a daughter to the late Loy Clifton and Mattie Susan Schieffer Byrd.

In addition to her parents, Lela was preceded in death by, two brothers, Clifford “Earl” Byrd and John T Byrd

Lela is survived by her husband, William B. Posey, of Clarksburg, WV; one son, Harold David Posey and his wife Ramona R Simmons Posey of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Christina Louise Mecannic and Michael, Sean Caplinger, Bridget Shreve and Jason, David Bryan Posey and Jessica; eight great grandchildren, Corey, Sydnee, Mikey Jr, Krystopher, Danielle, Sean Jr, Lucy and Corrine; one brother, Loy Clifton Byrd “Jr”, Jacksons Mill, one sister, Oleta C Byrd Posey and Russell Lindsay, of Nutter Fort; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lela went to Weston High School and retired from Brockway Glass Company/Hazel Atlas Glass Company. She attended the Oak Mound E.C. Church, for over 30 years. Her hobbies were gardening, baking cakes, photography and rock polishing.  In her spare time, she liked to do crafts, giving cake decorating classes.  She loved her dogs and grandkids.

A graveside service was held on, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Mt. Clare, WV.
