Laura Wanita Boggs Riley Mollohan, 91, of Bridgeport and formerly of Nebo in Clay County, died on July 21, 2025 at her home in Bridgeport.  She was called Wanita at birth and was known by that name most of her life.  She is survived by her son Harry Riley, Jr. and wife Debbie, step children, Donald G. Mollohan, Susan Underation and Nancy Swan (Mike); sisters, Mary Stewart, Martha Deems (Ell), daughter-in-law, Linda Riley, and brother, Henry Lee Boggs (Barbara).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Gladys Boggs, first husband of 37 ½ years, Harry Riley, Sr., son Francis Paul Riley, second husband, Donald D. Wanita was a Christian.  She loved her family, enjoyed working with children, reading, sewing, hiking and traveling.  After retirement, Wanita and Don traveled to Italy to visit Don’s brother Raymond’s grave, where he gave his life at Salerno in WWII.  They also traveled to all of the U.S. States except for Hawaii.

She attended Nebo Elementary, graduated from Clay County High School and Glenville State College.  She retired after working 27 years in the Clay County School System.  She did volunteer work with the 4H kids, belonged to Retired School Personnel Association, American Legion Auxiliary in Braxton County and the Daughters of the American Revolution and RSVP.

Her final wish was to donate her remains to WVU Human Gift Registry. Upon receipt of her ashes, we will announce when her memorial service and burial will be at the Boggs Cemetery in Big Otter, WV

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to WVU Hospice for all of the wonderful care and kindness given to our loved one and to us as her family, to the equipment delivery gentlemen who extended great kindness, and to the Bridgeport Fire Department for all of their help when we needed it.
