Kline “Carlton” Shelton, 85, of Clarksburg and formerly of Martinsburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the WV Nursing Facility in Clarksburg. He was born on May 25, 1939 in Fairfax, VA a son of the late Kline Shelton and Irene Penley Shelton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Carlton Shelton who passed away on July 26, 2021.
He is survived by his niece, Julie Lilly and husband Rudy of Annadale, VA; two sons, Mark and Mike; one brother, John Shelton.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Shelton.
Carlton was a graduate of Fairfax High School, class of 1957. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Carlton was a dry waller and worked in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and the West Virginia woods.
Mr. Shelton requested to be cremated and interred with his wife Priscilla. A military service will be held at a later date at the West Virginia National Cemetery with Military Honors.
