Kenneth H. Norris, 94, of Clarksburg, West Virginia passed away on May 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle.
He was born August 17, 1927 in Clarksburg, WV to William (Willy) and Effa Norris.
Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty, and brothers Merle, Doug, and Paul, along with brother and sister-in-law David and Jean Goldsmith. He is survived by his son Mark and wife Linda of Hedgesville, WV, daughter Lori and husband Brent of Stuarts Draft, VA, grandsons Seth (Erin) of San Antonio TX, Justin (Emily) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Christian, Gabriel, and Isaiah, all of Stuarts Draft, VA, and Brandon (Kara) of Newport Beach. California, great grandchildren Lincoln, Margo, Grace, Levi, Ava, and Katie, nieces Patty Hedrick, Mary Ann Ribas, Pam Kovacs, Cara, Lisa, and Julie Stackpole, and nephews Larry, Bill, Dwight, Bruce, and Keith Norris, Bill and Jeff Stackpole along with sisters in law Donna Gay, Debbie Drost, and Mary Rosencrance.
Ken was a lifetime member of the Central church of Christ in Clarksburg, WV and the Central church of Christ in Martinsburg, WV and truly lived his faith. He graduated from Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, WV and proudly served in the US Navy from 1945-1948. He was a loyal employee of the B&O Railroad (later Chessie Systems) for 38 ½ years. Ken was also a loyal lifetime Mountaineer fan from Sam Huff and Jerry West to the present, while attending hundreds of games.
Ken, known as Kenny to his family and many friends was also “Poppy” to his grandchildren. He was a kind and generous family man who was respected and appreciated by all who knew him. Ken truly believed in the love and grace of our Lord and will be greatly missed, but will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/ Nutter Fort on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 3-7PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Keith Brammel officiating. Interment will follow at Bridgeport Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the Navy Honor Guard.
