Karen Annette (Cooper) Phelan

Karen Annette (Cooper) Phelan, 67, of Clarksburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November, 30, 2022. She was born February 4, 1955, in Clarksburg, daughter of Loretta Matheny Cooper of Clarksburg and the late John Robert Cooper.

Karen was a graduate of Washington Irving High School and the Music School of Atlanta. She was a lifelong member of Spring Hill Chapel, and was employed by the Veterans Administration.

In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her two sisters, Brenda Olsen and Donna Hughes (and husband Robert), all of Clarksburg; two cherished nieces, Lindsay (Nate) Bowman, and Lauren Hughes (and fiancé, Luke Lopez); treasured great-nieces, Natalie Bowman, Lucy Lopez, and Lennon Lopez; as well as several cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffry Phelan.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 1:00PM until time of her Celebration of Life Service at 5:00PM with Pastor Lou Ortenzio officiating. Karen’s heartfelt generosity was abundantly spread over her family and community. Her passions were animal rescue and social services.
