Karen Lynn Hanigan, 80, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday morning, April 18, 2026 in Morgantown. She was born on September 27, 1945 in Wabash, IN a daughter of the late Bill Bryant and Dolly Erdie Bryant, who were her adoptive parents.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Edward Hanigan who passed away on January 11, 2017.
She is survived by four children: David William Lemasters, of Scottdale, PA; John Martin Lemasters of Fairmont, WV; Thomas Edward, Jr. and his wife Amanda Hanigan of Fairmont, WV ; and Timothy Shawn Hanigan of Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Cynthia Renee Lemasters of Monroeville, PA, Kendra Noel Phillips and her husband Ethan Phillips, Paige Nichole Lemasters, Mackenzie Renee Hanigan, and Natalie Jayne Hanigan.
Karen was a retired school teacher in Arizona as well as in Fairmont, most notably teaching at State Street school. She and her husband lived in Tucson, Arizona for twenty years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their RV and playing pinochle.
