Juliette Lorain (Zihlmann) Sandy

Juliette Lorain Sandy, 85, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 16, 1935 in Huntington, daughter of the late Amos Harry and Erma Lillian Dick Zihlmann.         

Juliette graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Huntington, WV and continued her study in Nursing at Saint Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg to become an RN. She retired from the VA Hospital as an ICU Nurse with over thirty-two years of service. She collected glassware from the family glass business in Huntington. Her love was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salem where she was very active over the years in the Women’s Club and helping with fundraisers. She enjoyed going to the beach.  

She is survived by two children, Susan Elizabeth Satterfield and Brian, Bristol, WV, Catherine Anne Sandy, Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Jennifer Post and Jason, Janette Jefferson and Rudolph, and Jackie Fetty; eleven great grandchildren, Justice, Nikki, Kyra, Cheyenne, Ashauntae, Lyryk, Landon, Ravyn, Makenna, Cameron and Madison; three great great grandchildren, Samuel, Liam, and Marsie; one brother, David Zihlmann, Henderson, NV; one sister, Mary Perdue, Huntington; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Juliette was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Edward Sandy on January 26, 1988 and whom she married on September 26, 1959; one great granddaughter, Jazmine.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 2-8PM where a vigil service will be held at 7:30pm. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Akila Rodrigo as celebrant.
