Judith Van Horn Obituary

Judith Ann Daugherty Van Horn, 74, of Lost Creek, passed away on Sunday, September 20, at 7:20 am, at United Hospital Center, after an extended illness. She was born on November 29, 1945, in Clarksburg, to the late Damon and Hazel Queen Daugherty. Judy was married to the love of her life, Harold W. (John) Van Horn on November 15, 1989, in Umatilla, Florida.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two step-sons, Harold Van Horn and wife Tina, of Clarksburg, and Kevin Van Horn; step-grandson, Shaun Van Horn and wife Krista, and step-great grandchildren, Will and Jozlyn Van Horn, all of Clarksburg; step-granddaughter, Trista Van Horn and fiancé Jeremiah Zebley, and great grandson Nickolas Zebley, all of Prosperity, SC. She was also survived by one sister, Shirley Ferguson and husband, Tom, of Youngsville, NC; two special nephews (who were like sons to her), Jonathan Pifer and wife Carol, of Little Hocking, OH, and Shane Pifer of Little Hocking, OH; great niece, Natasha (Pifer) Anderson and husband, Dustin; great great niece, Raelynn Anderson and great great nephew, Kizer Anderson, all of Waterford, OH; great nephew, Devon Pifer, and wife Casey; great great nephews, Axton and Brantley Pifer, all of Waterford, OH; one great niece and great nephews- who were like grandchildren to her.

Judy graduated from Unidas High School in West Milford, WV, in 1964.  She was retired from Anchor Hocking, with seventeen years of service. In earlier years, Judy enjoyed racing cars, riding Harleys, playing golf and training and jumping horses around the tri-state.  She had a great love for her horses, dogs and her cat, Big. She loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas, where she played the slot machines.  She loved bringing the gang in to her house to play cards.  She loved to talk and enjoyed getting company. Judy devoted herself to caring for her beloved aunt, Leta Wolfe, and also her mother.  She never met a stranger and would do anything for anybody.  She had a great love for family and friends.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 3-7PM and on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 10-11AM. Graveside Service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at 11:30AM on Thursday with Rev. Leary Van Horn presiding. Online condolences may be sent to DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
