Judith Ellen Schroeder, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1942 in Derby, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Louis Kuhar and Edna Cross Kuhar Adams.
Judith graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1960 and received her bachelor’s degree at Fairmont State University. She worked for SSDI for over 20 years where she was active in the local NADE chapter and was awarded a regional performance award for excellence as a disability examiner. Judith was a member of the Wilsonburg Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Judith spent her life serving God in various ways. She was Chairman of the area association Christian Education Committee, President of Judson Association ABW; served on the WV State ABW Board in several capacities and worked on Judson Youth leadership team to plan youth rallies. She was also a member and past president of the Wilsonburg Lions Club.
Judith is survived by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Leroy Schroeder, whom she married February 1, 1962; her two children: Lisa Ann Schroeder-Gruhlke and husband David of Aurora, IL, and Patricia Lynn Schroeder-Hutchings and husband Albert of Clarksburg; grandchildren: Kevin Louis Skinner, Remy Edward Skinner, and Victoria Kay Skinner; great-grandchildren: Mason, Aydan, Avery, and Amoni; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judith was also preceded in death by her four siblings: Dorothy Perry, Katherine (Kay) Sargeant, Jacqueline (Jackie) Hogan, and Billy Kuhar and her infant son, Kenneth Louis Schroeder.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home and Cremation, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Wilsonburg Baptist Church 134 Wilsonburg Rd, Clarksburg, WV 26301at 11:00 AM with Reverend Brian Thompson presiding.
