Juanita Brooks

Juanita Brooks, 78, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.  She was born on October 27, 1947 in Elkins, a daughter of the late Clyde Owens and Elvira Cross Owens.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry Brooks, whom she married on September 3, 1966

She is survived by her son, Larry Michael Brooks and wife Tammy of Katy; one grandson, Skyler Brooks and wife Shelby of Fairmont; one great grandson, Sutton Brooks; siblings, Wilma Mader Wheaton and Mary Martin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Harry Owens and Clyde “Buck” Owens.

Juanita was a graduate of Farmington High School, class of 1955.  Juanita was a kind, caring, and generous woman whose love extended to everyone she met. Simple in nature and strong in faith, she lived her life with quiet grace and devotion. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she found great joy in making beautiful Christmas wreaths, decorating tables, and creating a warm, welcoming home for her family. She cherished time spent with her loved ones and enjoyed relaxing while watching her favorite westerns. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and faith-filled life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
