Joyce Lea Ward, 69, of Sand Fork, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at United Hospital Center.
She was born June 22, 1956, in Glenville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Russell and Betty Dean Losh.
Joyce was a graduate of Gilmer County High School and spent her life as a devoted homemaker. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. Being a mother and grandmother was the center of her world, and she loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joyce was incredibly proud of each of them and treasured watching them grow and succeed. Her love, encouragement, and support will always remain in their hearts.
In her quiet moments, Joyce enjoyed watching reality television and working crossword puzzles, but her happiest times were those spent surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Nathan Edward Ward of Colfax, Illinois, and Renee Dawn Wyrick of Lexington, Illinois; caring companion, Martin Wine, Sand Fork; seven cherished grandchildren, Taylor Lynn Metroz, Michael Logan Wyrick, Gage Alexander Wyrick, Autumn Marie Wyrick, Zoey Charlea Bentley, Titan Ward, and Tiera Ward. She is also survived by her siblings, Laura Jarvis of Sutton, West Virginia, Karen Brunson of Utah, Charles Losh of York, South Carolina, Catherine Losh and Douglas Losh, both of Burnsville, Angela Hernandez of O’Fallon, Illinois, Victoria Garrant of King Grove, Virginia, and Barry Losh of Wheeling, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Edward Ward, on November 25, 2019, and two siblings, Iris Heater and Lisa Losh.
In keeping with her wishes, Joyce will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest with the family who went before her.
Joyce will be remembered most for the deep love she had for her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was incredibly proud of each of them. The memories she created, the love she shared, and the quiet strength she carried will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
