Joyce Ellen (Plaugher) Lowther

Joyce Ellen Plaugher Lowther, 65, of Ridgeley, WV passed away at UPMC in Maryland on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was born in Clarksburg on November 5, 1956, the daughter of the late Harry Carl and Katherine Viola Titchnell Plaugher.

Joyce graduated from Liberty High School and went on to work as a Pharmacy Technician for many years until her retirement. She was very fond of traveling. Joyce especially enjoyed the beach. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband, whom she married on August 3, 1973, Richard S. Lowther; two daughters, Lori Dawn Loar and husband, James, of Keyser, WV and Lisa Danielle Conner and husband, Andrew, of Fort Ashby; one son, Richard Steven Lowther, II; seven grandchildren, Derrick Loar, Lacey Loar, Katherine Conner, Karleigh Conner, Kole Conner, Madilynne Lowther, and Mazzy Lowther; one sister, Belinda Southern-Miles and husband, Mike of Craigsville; one brother, Rusty Plaugher of Clarksburg; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael Carl Plaugher, Denver Bryan Plaugher, Patrick Linc Plaugher, Randy Blaine Plaugher;  three sisters, Katheryn Ann Suter, Wyona Blanch Ash, Harriet Pauline Tichenor; as well as three brothers-in-law, Rick Southern, Raymond Ash, and Larry Tichenor. 

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chuck Madaus officiating.
