Joy Charlene Singleton, age 65, went home to be with the Lord, her Prince of Peace, on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her home in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on April 26, 1956, and the daughter of Charles Walter Singleton and Margaret P. Singleton of Clarksburg. She is survived by both of her parents, one sister, Jan Charmaine Singleton of Morgantown, and two brothers, Craig Wayne Singleton and Christopher Jerrard (Antoinette) Singleton, both of Clarksburg. Joy was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Jerome Singleton, and Charles Walter Singleton II. In addition, she is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joy was an accountant and bookkeeper. She retired from Ryan Environmental, Ryan Energy Services, in Bridgeport, West Virginia in 2018. She was an active member of Agape Life Church in Fairmont, West Virginia, where she served as accountant and bookkeeper for her church. Joy also served on the West Virginia Black Heritage Council, where she served as the accountant and bookkeeper. Joy is at perfect peace…..the kind of peace that passes all human understanding……the peace that preserves us in the midst of turmoil. While family and friends will miss her terribly, we take comfort in knowing that she is with her Prince of Peace!
