Joshua Taft Woody, 39, of Buckhannon, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Akron, Ohio. He was born on April 23, 1987 in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Michael McCoy and survived by Debra Lynn Woody Sampley of Buckhannon.
He is survived by three children, Jaiden Fordyce of Buckhannon, Arianna Woody and Samuel Woody, both of Beckley, WV; siblings, Jennifer Parker and husband Alexander and David Woody, all of Buckhannon.
Josh worked in the construction industry for many years and also performed electrical work. A talented craftsman, he took great pride in creating beautiful grapevine trees, handcrafted stands, and tables. His skill, creativity, and attention to detail were evident in everything he built. More than his craftsmanship, Josh will be remembered for the person he was. He was kindhearted, loving, and genuinely selfless, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity, warm spirit, and caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Way of Holiness Church, 2337 Old West Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201 on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 1:30 PM with Reverend Jerry Murrell presiding. Online condolences may be shared at www.davisfuneralhomewv.com. Davis Funeral Home is honored to serve the Woody family.
