Joseph "Joey" Zane Smith

Joseph “Joey” Zane Smith, 20 of Clarksburg passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 3,2021 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side after discovering a rare illness. Joey was born October 3, 2000 in Parkersburg, son of Douglas Raymond Smith Jr and fiancé Brittany, Salem and Amber Rachelle Richards Seltmann and husband Matt, Masontown, WV.

Joey had worked at McDonalds in Clarksburg. He was a very talented Artist, enjoyed gaming, computers, and creating his own music for the world.   .  

In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by his half-brother, Kaleb Smith, Blacksburg, VA; stepbrothers, Aden and Riley; paternal grandparents, Douglas R Smith Sr and Shirley Mae Purvis Smith, Harrisville; maternal grandparents, Lonnie Ray and Betty A. Richards, Harrisville; Deborah Reaser Graham, Goose Creek; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joey is preceded in death by his step grandfather, Robert Graham Jr.; and his step uncle, Allen Kilgore.

Joey was able to give life to others by being an organ donor with Core, a gift that will help so many. Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is handling the cremation and honored to serve the Smith family.
