Joe Ed Wilson, 69, of Lost Creek, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026. Born on June 9, 1956, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Billy Jo and Viola Belle Creak Wilson.
Joe Ed dedicated 16 years of service as a Foreman with the Clarksburg Water Board before a swimming accident brought an end to his career. While he worked hard throughout his life, it was his love for the outdoors and his enjoyment of life's simple pleasures that truly defined him.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Joe Ed felt most at home in the woods, on the water, or riding his 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. He loved the freedom of the outdoors, the thrill of adventure, and the stories that came with every trip. Just as much, he cherished gathering with friends, sharing laughter, telling tales, and enjoying a cold drink in good company. His easygoing nature, sense of humor, and appreciation for life made him a friend to many and a joy to be around.
Joe Ed's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Marie Haley (Anthony) of Winter Springs, Florida; his daughter, Michelle Lee Blackwell of Clarksburg; and his beloved grandchildren, Makenna Marie Bruemmer, Noah Greynolds, Grace Greynolds, and Adelynn Love.
Though he has left this world, Joe Ed's spirit lives on in every quiet morning in the woods, every fishing line cast into the water, every ride down a country trail, and every gathering of friends raising a glass in remembrance.
Inurnment will be held at Monroe Chapel Cemetery in Romines Mills, WV. Online condolences may be shared at www.davisfuneralhomewv.com.
