Joe Gallo Obituary

Joe Billy Gallo, 93, of Reynoldsville, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at United Hospital Center.  He was born on May 14, 1932 in Reynoldsville, WV a son of the late John and Constanzia Audia Gallo.

Joe attended Victory High School until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean War.  He lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and genuine love for people. Over the years, he worked as a coal miner, farmer, cab driver, factory worker, state road employee, business owner, and later as a dietary aide at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. No matter the job, he gave his best effort and treated everyone with respect.  Joe had the biggest heart, never met a stranger, and could always find humor in any situation. Social by nature, strong, and deeply honest, he made friends wherever he went. He loved football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching westerns, playing solitaire, tending to his yard, and growing a garden. A talented dancer, Joe could light up a room with the jitterbug and the twist, bringing smiles to everyone around him.  Joe was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge Herman No. 6 in Clarksburg, and the Nemesis Temple Shriners in Parkersburg, American Legion, VFW, Valley of Canton Scottish Rite, Elks, Eagles, and Moose, and the hillbilly clan at the hillbilly convention in Pikesville, KY, and valued the friendships and fellowship those organizations gave him.  He was a Christian and lifelong Democrat.

Joe is survived by his children: Beverly Jo Gallo Stickel of Reynoldsville, Bobby Joe Gallo and spouse Sandra of Peoria, AZ, Aaron Lee Gallo and wife Marsha of Fairmont; grandchildren: Jenifer D. Foy of Pensacola, FL, Josh Stickel of Reynoldsville, Amy Gallo Saffer and spouse Rob of Independence, OR and Tina Gallo Troy and spouse Lindsey of Glendale, AZ; great grandchildren: Tajah Wright, Tyriq Wright of Pensacola, FL, Alexandria Saffer, Sydney Saffer of Independence, OR, Dominic Carpenter, Joshua Scott Plaughter of Clarksburg, Tala Stickel Berke and husband, James, II of Reynoldsville, Stevie Troy of Glendale, AZ, Brad Jaynes and Ty Dziados of Akron, OH; one sister: Freda Wilson; great great grandson Dominick Jackson Patton, great great granddaughter, Ophelia Jo Berke; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
