Joan Lenhardt

Joan Lenhardt, 92, of Reynoldsville, passed away peacefully at Maplewood Healthcare Center on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

She was born on May 9, 1934, in Wolf Summit, the daughter of the late Jennie Bunnell Fox Windon of Reynoldsville. Joan was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Randolph and Dorothy Bunnell, whose care and guidance helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

Joan leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her son, Steve Lenhardt and his wife, Cindy, of Toledo, Ohio; her daughter, LouAnn Campbell and her husband, Jim, of Marshville; and Anna Dodd of Clarksburg, who was like a daughter to her. She was a devoted grandmother to Erica Campbell Stillings and her husband, John; Jeremy Lenhardt and his wife, Sandy; Jason Lenhardt and his wife, Kellie; Justin Lenhardt; Jacob Lenhardt and his wife, Katy; and Ryan Campbell and his wife, Anna, She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, three great granddaughters; Madison, MaKenna, Evelyn,; six great grandsons; Austin, Hunter, Isaac, Henry, Clark, Ezra. Each of whom brought her great joy and pride.

In addition to her mom and grandparents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A Lenhardt of Lamar, AR, whom she married on May 9, 1952. They were lovingly married for 50 years.

A proud graduate of Victory High School's Class of 1952 where she was a member of the marching and concert band, Joan dedicated many years of service to others. She worked at JC Penney store when it opened in Clarksburg working in the custom drapery department as a consultant, also in the pharmacy at United Hospital Center for 20 years until her retirement. Never one to slow down, she became the first woman garage attendant for the city of Clarksburg, from the age of 70 until she retired at 86.

Joan was a lifelong member of Reynoldsville Baptist Church, where her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life. She was a Sunday School teacher as well as a BYF youth director. She started a grief support group at church and was the church historian. She was also an active member of the East View Senior Citizens Center and the Clarksburg Senior Citizens Center, where she enjoyed fellowship and friendship with many dear friends. She was a member of the Red Hat, Bunko and Ringo club of Salem. She was a member of the Clarksburg Woman's Club, Queen Esther Chapter II and was also an active member with her husband in the Masonic & Shrine Lodge.

Joan embraced life with enthusiasm and determination. She proudly learned to swim at the
age of 30, proving it is never too late to learn something new. She loved playing BINGO, watching Wheel of Fortune and listening to the timeless songs of Pat Boone. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—watching hummingbirds flutter about, relaxing on her back porch, and enjoying the beauty of each day. Her kindness, strong work ethic, unwavering faith, and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m., with Pastor Jon Hayes officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at West Virginia National Cemetery. Those wishing to travel in procession from the funeral home to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m.
