Jesse Elmo Schlicker, 95, of Clarksburg, passed away Sunday March 22, 2020 at the WV VA Nursing Facility. He was born on April 13, 1924 in Clarksburg, son of the late Emil Frank and Mary May Hustead Schlicker.
Jesse graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1942. Jesse served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was self-employed as a contractor for many years, owning Schlicker Construction in Clarksburg. Jesse did his apprenticeship while building and working on the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was a Baptist by faith. Jesse was a member of the Clarksburg Fraternal Order of Eagles. His hobbies were fishing, the bowling league and loved spending time with his family.
Jesse is survived by his three children, Ricky G Schlicker and Vala, Lana Jo White and Sam, and Jesse Lynn Schlicker and Celeste, all of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Stacey Hodges and Mark, Ricki Edwardson and Patrick, Bruce Michael Schlicker and Ashlee, Samantha Jo Anderson and Joe, Erin Melissa White; five great grandchildren, Mikkah, Rilee, Madeline, Adalynn, Alyssa and Bennett; and one brother Charles Schlicker and Thelma of Cincinnati, OH.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Lee Pouch in 1974; one brother, Leonard Dale Schlicker.
All services are private. Private Internment will be at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
