Janet Denise (Shuman) Billings Brown

Janet Denise (Shuman) Billings 61, of Clarksburg passed away on August 2, 2022 at Fairmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 10, 1960, daughter of Frances Marlene Maxwell Shuman of Clarksburg and the late Robert Wesley Shuman.

Janet graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1978. She worked in retail at Hills Department Store and was a homemaker. She loved listening to music, dancing, watching her favorite movies, collecting hats, bird watching, writing, spending time with her grandkids, and church at Staley Assembly of God. She loved the color purple, especially her purple tulips.

Janet is survived by her son, David Travis Billings II and wife Kristian, Stonewood; her daughter, Jessica Ann Hoke and husband Brian, Clarksburg; three siblings, Cynthia Peck, Robert Wesley Shuman II,  both of Florida, and Michael Shuman, of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, David Travis Billing III, Adriana Michelle Smith, Gracelynn Nicole Billings, Hailey Kay Hoke, and Nicholas Allen Hoke; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Janet was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Goff.

Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 3-7PM.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Greaver officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
