James “Jim” Michael Lear

James “Jim” Michael Lear, 72, of Mount Clare passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at United Hospital Center. He was born on March 18, 1952 in Joliet, IL, son of the late James Berwind and Virginia Blanche Taylor Lear.

Jim graduated from RW High School, Class of 1970 and Fairmont State College in 1974. He was a Drug Rep for Clarksburg Drug and later Cardinal Health where he retired working in sales and merchandising.  He loved music, playing the guitar, going to concerts, and fishing. He also had an extensive music and guitar collection. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys.  

Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah “Debbie” Ann McCann Lear whom he married on December 22, 1973; two children, Melissa Mann and Jacob, Columbia, TN, Matthew Lear and Teresa, Shinnston; five grandchildren, Jacob, Carter, Thomas, Mason and Annalise.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by two siblings in infancy, Dean Grant Lear and Cindy Jo Lear.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/Nutter Fort. A graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
