James "Bo" Ashcraft Obituary

James “Bo” Allen Ashcraft, 70, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Richwood, WV.  He was born on January 4, 1955, in Clarksburg, WV, and was the son of the late George T Ashcraft and Dorothy Johnson Ashcraft.

He is survived by his son Michael of Washington DC; and his sister Linda Elsbury of Madison, OH; several nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own.

In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by several brothers and sisters, Stanley, Jesse, Maurice, Diane, Barbara, Mike, Norma, Nelson, Rodney, and infant sister Cathy Louise.

Jim spent his early years attending school in Clarksburg, WV (Summit Park) before moving to Falls Church, VA, where he completed his education with his sister Barbara and niece Paula and brother-in-law Charly.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and dedicated his career to the maintenance department at the Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Jim enjoyed spending time with family in multiple areas including Clarksburg, WV, Eagle Rock, VA, Tomball, TX and Madison, OH.  Jim was known for his giving heart, helpful nature and thoughtful spirit.  Jim’s kindness, laughter, and generosity will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. 

Jim was an avid WVU and Green Bay Packers fan since childhood.   He loved animals, especially his most recent dog Pearl.  He enjoyed tending to his flowers and feeding the hummingbirds that frequented his garden. He looked forward to seeing friends and playing baseball at the annual Summit Park reunions.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Summit Park Baptist Church, 15 Monarch Street, Clarksburg, WV  26301 or your favorite charity in his memory.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive (Rt 98), Clarksburg, WV, on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 1pm-5pm.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11am with his nephew Curtis Occhionero presiding.  Family and friends will meet at the funeral home prior to the graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park.  Online condolences can be made at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.  Davis Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ashcraft family.
