James Jackson Sprouse

James Jackson Sprouse, 82, of Mannington, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 in Bridgeport at United Hospital Center.  He was born on April 18, 1941 in Jane Lew a son of the late Grace V. Sprouse.  He was also raised by his adopted mother, Ruby Stoner.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lois Hart Sprouse, whom he married on July 27, 1973.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by two children, James A. Sprouse and his fiancée Leann Hostuttler and Kimberly Sprouse, all of Mannington; his siblings, Hazel Sprouse, Nick, Ruth, and Dorothy Myers of Daybrook;

He was also preceded in death by his sibling, Arlis Sprouse, and special friends Lilly and Bob Myers.

James was an automotive body mechanic and he enjoyed the outdoors, working on vehicles, gardening and singing.  He never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone.  He was also Baptist by faith and he was a huge Washington Redskins fan and loved his fur babies, Axle, Tucker, Bella, Odie, Boo, Shasta and Gizmo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his care fund set up through Davis Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/ Nutter Fort on Monday June 5, 2023 from 4-7 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Gilbert Neeley presiding in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home.
