James “Michael” Clevenger, 84, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 suddenly at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on February 19, 1941 a son of the late Clifford Miller and Dolores Mamie Casto Clevenger. His wife, Veronica Jane Ladda Clevenger survives. They were united in marriage February 14, 1963.
Michael was a 1960 graduate of Jane Lew High School and 1962 of WV Business College. He served his country in the United States Army. Michael worked as a self-employed businessman. His life was his family and work. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and all sports. Michael was an avid WVU fan.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his two children, Margaret “Michelle” Dodrill and husband Keith, Patrick Neal Clevenger and wife Kelly all of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Joshua “Chase” Parker (Rachel), Jordan “Colt” Parker, Loren Taylor Custer (Anthony), Zachary Neil Clevenger (Elaina), Eryca Brynn Miles (Khori), Lindsey Alana Drain (Eric), and Joshua Paul Dodrill (Erika); four great grandchildren, Alex, Christian, Cora, Holden, and one on the way Kayce.
Friends may call at Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Walt Jagela as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
