Irmgard Morrison Obituary

Irmgard A. Vogt Morrison, 95, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Fairmont at her daughters’ residence with family by her side. She was born April 14, 1925 in Kassel, Germany, daughter of the late Hans and Elisabeth Möebus Vogt. Irmgard graduated from high school and from Göttinsgen University with a certification as an X-Ray Technician, all in Germany. She was a member of the Overseas Wives Club for all the women that married Military and moved to the United States. She worked at the Superette Grocery Store where she held several positions for over twenty-five years. Irmgard had also worked at Maidenform and sold Avon. She was also a member of the Clarksburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She met her husband Charles E Morrison while working at the Army hospital in Garmisch and fell in love. They were married in 1948 until the time of his passing in 2005. She was a seamstress and she loved spending time with her family hiking in the woods. Irmgard also enjoyed collecting Humels, because it reminded her of her homeland.She and her husband loved to travel and would take the RV to Fort Myers Campground during the winter and all Mountaineer Football Games home and away. Irmgard is survived by two daughters, Claudia Viglianco, Morgantown and Linda Morrison, Fairmont; one son, Charles E Morrison, Jr and Kathy, Stonewood; three grandsons, Jason Viglianco, Seattle, WA, Jordan Morrison and Megan, Clarksburg, Logan Morrison and companion Bridget Boyle, Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Irmgard was preceded in death by her brother, Oskar Vogt; and one sister Edith Lopez. The Family would like to thank WVCARE Hospice for the care, support, and kindness provided to Irmgard in her last days. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at 2:00PM with Pastor Bonnie Starkey officiating.
