Gilbert "Gil" Yetter

Gilbert “Gil” Yetter, 71, of Hedgesville, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Morgantown, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 31, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Gordon Briley Yetter and Margaret Jackel Yetter.

On May 6, 1978, Gil married the love of his life, Deborah Yetter, and together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Briley James Yetter, Gordon Briley Yetter, and Rebecca Lynn Yetter; his beloved grandchildren, Blake Yetter, Eleanor Yetter, Cameron Conard, Elias Yetter, Ethan Yetter, and a new grandchild expected later this year; as well as his siblings, Virginia McSweeney and Gary Yetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Gordon K. Yetter and Gail Braddock.

Gil graduated from Great Valley High School in Malvern, PA, in 1972 and went on to further his studies in engineering at Drexel University. He dedicated more than 30 years to his career as a mechanical engineer before retiring.

Outside of work, Gil lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed flying, camping, playing guitar, golfing, and tackling home improvement projects. He loved spending time with his family and his loyal dog, Olive. Gil was also an active and proud member of the Elks. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend—kindhearted, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
