Gerald "Jerry" Martin Davis

Gerald "Jerry" Martin Davis, 81 of Bridgeport passed away on March 31, 2021. He was born on August 3, 1939 in Romines Mills, WV, the son of the late Homer and Harriett Marguerite Hardman Davis.

Jerry graduated from Bridgeport High School, Class of 1957. He attended Chicago Tech and received his Drafting Certificate and came back to WV to work for the Department of Highways helping build Route 50. He then went to work for Union Carbide and retired working in production control. His favorite job was being the owner of Jerry’s Flies which he started in 1975.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Mountaineer Games with his son, and being a handy man.  He loved spending time with family and friends. 

Jerry is survived by three children, Julie Martin and Andrew “Jim”, Fairmont, Jo Ellen Davis, Bridgeport, James Bradley Davis and Mary Kay, Bridgeport; one grandson, Markus “Alex” Bray, Fairmont; two siblings, Howard Edward Davis and Carol, Stonewood, Shirley Webb and Ronald, Fairmont; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Judith Elaine Goldsmith Davis on September 6, 2015 and whom he married on July 2, 1961; one brother, Robert Lee Davis.

Family will receive friends for visitation at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 10:00AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor J.
