Gerald Liston Obituary

Gerald Freeland Liston, 92, of Morgantown, WV and Wadsworth, OH, passed away on Wednesday, November 08, 2023 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born on February 1, 1931 in Berwind, WV, a son of the late Jessie Earl Liston and Ruth Andrews Liston.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Rosalie Williams Liston.

Gerald is survived by three sons, Jay Liston of Sullivan, OH, Jim Liston of Wadsworth, OH and Steve Liston of Richland, WA; five grandchildren, Laura, Allison, Jacob, Jessie and Hope.

Gerald was a proud member of the United States Navy and also was an accountant and General Manager of Akron 71 West Truck Stop in Lodi, OH. He attended WVU and received his accounting degree at Akron University. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Wadsworth, Ohio, where he resided for 60 years. He was as an avid Mountaineer fan and enjoyed watching all of Mountaineer sporting events as well as being an avid golfer.
