Gerald Izzi Obituary

Gerald Ralph Izzi, 76 of Chloe, WV passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born January 26, 1944 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Sam and Alice Cimino Izzi.

Gerald served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War where he received his Purple Heart. He received his double masters in History and Linguistics from Northern Illinois University. Gerald retired from the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier with over thirty years of service. He collected stamps and loved going to Las Vegas.

Gerald is survived by two children, Deborah Brown and David, Lansing, WV, Jessica Burnett and Michael, Texas City, TX; two grandchildren, Crystal Sabala and Kawika Burnett; one sister, Sandra Smith, Chicago, IL.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Ann Dahlstrom Izzi on September 10, 2008 and one son, Michael Sabala on February 21, 2013.
