Geneva Rose (Talerico) Duke

Geneva R. (Talerico) Duke, age 87 of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born April 16, 1931 in Clarksburg, WV; the daughter of the late Samuel Talerico and Angelina Talerico.

Geneva is survived by her children, Sharon Pepper & her husband, Randy of Kannapolis, NC, Regina Welch & her husband, Bob of Mt. Clare, WV, Michael Duke & his wife, Alisa of Clarksburg, WV, Mark Duke & his wife, Teresa of Burlington, NC and Stephen Duke & his wife, Barbie of Buckhannon, WV; nine grandchildren, Jason Pepper, Lori Crates, Michael Duke, Jr., Adam Duke, April Duke, Anna Duke, Tesse Terneus, Tia Duke and Toni Siebert; fourteen great grandchildren; and a precious four legged baby, Angel.

In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Vance Duke, Jr; two half-sisters, Mary Sorino and Sara Talerico.

Geneva was a 1949 graduate of Victory High School. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital and United Hospital Center for over 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Harrison County Senior Citizen, Red Hat Club of Clarksburg. Geneva loved to play bingo and make ceramics at the Senior Citizen.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm; Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10:00 am with Father D. Kent Durig, presiding. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
