Gary David Hebb, 68 of Anmoore passed away at home after a brief illness. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Davis and his wonderful hospice team. His son, Jeremy Hebb, whom he could not have survived without, cared for him. He was surrounded by his loving family early Sunday morning on June 12, 2022. He was born on September 30, 1953 of Baltimore, MD, the son of late Harry C. R. and Louise Lundy Hebb.
Gary was the first to graduate from Salem Teikyo University. He drove a tractor trailer while raising his family in San Antonio, TX. They later returned to WV where he retired as a bus driver from CENTRA. There he held many positions, including Union President. He was an avid blues guitar player. His favorite pastime was to spend time with his best friend, Spike Myers riding Harleys and checking out music stores. He traveled several years playing gospel music with many ministries. Gary Hebb was a patriot and also wrote many songs, his favorite being “Let Freedom Ring”.
Gary is survived by the love of his life, Reverend Patricia “Sissy” Hebb; two sons, Shannon and wife Valerie Hebb, of Salem, Jeremy and wife Tracy Hebb, of Jane Lew; one daughter, Stella Hebb, deceased October 2021. I am sure they are dancing in the Heavens. After the death of Woody and Sissy’s daughter Stella, they were very grateful to spend their last moments together and with their grandchildren, and finally realizing they are truly each other’s “Endless Love”. Additionally, he is survived by six grandchildren, Austin Williams, Lance Corporal Hunter Dale, Cordelia Hebb, Jackson Hebb, Rylan Green and Ariella Vargus.
In addition to his parents and daughter, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerold Hebb and Harry Hebb Jr. His last surviving sibling, Sandra Harden resides in Branson, Missouri along with several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 3 to 7pm and Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Peggy Williams officiating.
