Gary Ronald Colbert

Gary Ronald Colbert, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at his home in Clarksburg.  He was born on July 18, 1943 in Nyack, NY, a son of the late Seymore Colbert and Irene Lawrence Colbert.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Miller Colbert, whom he married on January 28, 1967.

In addition, he is also survived by eight children, Vicki Wingfield, Margaret Franey, Pamela Sue Britton, William Goldberg, Conni Beatty, Wayne Colbert, Gary Colbert, Jr., and Michelle Colbert Jones, and their spouses; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, David Colbert and Michael Colbert; and one sister, Diann Colbert; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary graduated from Kaiserslautern High School in Germany and was employed as a printer with PBM Graphics in Durham, NC after 20 years of service.  He was also on the Pastor Care Team at Abundant Life in Clearwater, Florida. 

Known for his warmth, mischievous spirit, and deep love for his family, Gary left a lasting impact on all who knew him.  Gary had a passion for reading, and watching westerns, losing himself in tales of adventure and honor. He was a man who cherished simple pleasures, whether it was sharing a laugh with loved ones or spending time with his family.  A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Gary's legacy lives on through the memories he created with his family. His love and sense of humor will be missed, but never forgotten.

His final resting place will be in heaven and he will be waiting for his family and friends to meet him there.
