Freddie "Fred" Dye Obituary

Freddie “Fred” Harley Dye, 66 of Quiet Dell went to be with his lord and savior on Friday, February 14, 2020. He was born May 27, 1953 in Clarksburg, son of the late Charles Harold and Verna Morris Dye.

Fred was a painter by trade at Clarksburg Casket Company where he retired in 1994.  He also liked to restore vehicles and spent a lot of time in his garage where he worked on his numerous projects and played with his cat Bubba. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.  

Fred is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Diana Elder Dye; one son, Robert Dye of Lumberport, one daughter, Shannon Lucas and husband Dwayne, Quite Dell; grandson, Dwayne Lucas Jr; brother, Richard Dye and Sharon, Mt Clare; sisters, Marie Dye, Nutter Fort, Judy Longwell, Clarksburg, Nancy Dye, Grafton; numerous nieces and nephews which he loved dearly along with his many coworkers at Clarksburg Casket. 

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by is step brother, Jeff Dye.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dye family to help with expenses.

Family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Union Mission Church, in Nutter Fort, from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm with Pastor Terry Wilson officiating.
