Franklin Delano Barker, Sr, 92, of Clarksburg passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 6, 1933 in Brown, WV, a son of the late George D. Barker and Dora Helen Moore Barker.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Alicia Maria Barker, whom he married on April 6, 1954 at the Rodman Naval Station Chapel in Panama CZ.
He is survived by two children, Franklin D. Barker, Jr. of Murrietta, CA and Steven L. Barker of Clarksburg; fourteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jose Antonio Barker; two siblings, George D. Barker, Jr, and Ramona Ernestine Barker Booth.
Frank attended Wallace High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
Following his military career, Frank enjoyed spending time working on ceramics with his beloved wife. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by nature. He also enjoyed reading and watching westerns and had a lifelong passion for building model airplanes. Frank was a devoted husband, an excellent father, and a man who deeply loved his family. He lived life with passion, kindness, and faith. A faithful Christian, he read his Bible often and was a dedicated member of Coons Run Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his strength, love, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
