Francis Leroy McWhorter

Francis McWhorter  passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born August 24, 1941 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Thurston and Myrtle Johns McWhorter.

Francis was a graduate of Victory High School, Carnegie Tech and Ohio University, earning both MS and PhD degrees. He was an electrical engineer and later taught engineering and mathematics at technical schools and West Virginia Wesleyan College.

He attended First United Methodist Church where he loved his church family, Bible study and just helping out. Francis enjoyed music, paying his guitar, being outdoors and working on math equations.

Survivors include wife, Nancy; son Kenneth; brother, Gary; nephew, Matthew and niece, Ann.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 117 N 2nd St, Clarksburg, WV 26301.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the church’s Emergency Fund or to Clarksburg Mission.
