Essie Earlene Tomasi, 76, of Mannington, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 in Bridgeport. She was born on July 23, 1949 in Belington, a daughter of the late James Allen and Marjorie Emma Hess Allen.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael Tomasi.
She is also survived by her daughter, Michelle Tomasi; one grandson, Cameron Hardesty; siblings James M Allen, Mannington, Mary E Steerman (Charlie), Belington, Carl K Allen (Betty), PA, several nieces and nephews, and special nephew David Allen and Dawn A. Swiger and Lea Swiger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Goff “Bussie” Allen and wife Carolyn and Dorothy Talkington.
Essie was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School, class of 1967 and a graduate of the Clarksburg Beauty Academy. She was a talented and vibrant woman who lived life with joy, generosity, and love. For many years, she worked as a dedicated hair stylist, bringing beauty and confidence to those she served. Alongside her husband, she also ran a successful catering business, where her remarkable culinary skills shined, many considered her a true gourmet chef. Essie had a caring heart and found great fulfillment in her work as an in-home caregiver, offering comfort and compassion to others. She was fun-loving, full of laughter, and had a wonderful personality that drew people to her. To know Essie was to know warmth, kindness, and a spirit that made every gathering brighter. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
