Elizabeth Ann (Davis) Peterman, 66, of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her residence. She was born on September 8, 1957 in Sacramento, CA, daughter of the late Thomas and Peggy Jean Taulbee Davis.
Elizabeth attended East Fairmont High School and took a job at the Westinghouse Factory in Fairmont after her graduation in 1975. Elizabeth lived in West Virginia the remainder of her life, most recently she called Clarksburg her home. She was a member of the North-View United Methodist Church. She went by “Elizabeth” in her community, but her close friends and family called her “Betsy”. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, crafts and was an accomplished writer of poetry. She also liked reading her bible, cookbooks and housekeeping magazines.
Elizabeth will be missed by all who knew her. Family will miss her gentle nature, her strength and perseverance. She was admired for her sense of style, even when staying home she could be found smartly attired complete with jewelry, makeup and styled hair. She had many friends in her community and will be remembered for her sweet, generous and kind personality. Elizabeth was always available for a phone call, visitors and good conversations.
Elizabeth is survived by her brothers, Thomas “Stan” Davis (Gloria) of Rio Linda CA, and Roger L. Davis (Diana) of Vermilion, OH; sister-in-law, Debbie Davis of Bellview, WV; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, George Davis; one nephew, Brian Tibbs.
There will be no services at this time. The family are planning to gather for a celebration of life honoring Betsy at a later date.
The family requests material contributions be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105, in her memory.
