Elena Rae (Collins) Sandy

Elena Rae Sandy, 72 of Clarksburg passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at United Hospital Center with family by her side. She was born April 13, 1953 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Charles Eddie Cole and Marjorie Janet Collins Evans. She was raised by her grandmother, the late Muriel McDaniels Collins.                             

Elena was a homemaker and loved cooking, gardening, crocheting, collecting native American memorabilia, and playing games on her tablet. Over the years she had worked security, and at Walmart. Her love was her family and being able to spend time with them.

Elena is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Edward Sandy whom she married on June 12, 1971; five sons, Charles Edward “Chuck” Sandy II (Misty), Grafton, Neal Matthew Sandy (Kristie) Kingsport, TN, Norman Wayne Sandy (fiancée, Suzanne Currey), Michael Scott Sandy (Traci), Ryan Quentin Sandy (Brittany) all of Clarksburg; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; eight siblings; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and grandmother, she was preceded in death by five siblings.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 12:00 Noon-4:00PM and Monday, May 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jon Hayes officiating.
