Elder James Edward “Eddie” Holliday, 80, of Clarksburg, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1944 in Lumberport, WV a son of the late Francis Albert Holliday and Dorothy Margaret Barrett Holliday and step son of the late Roy Tate.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Edith Suttle Holliday.
He is survived by his son Chris Holliday and wife Donna, Daughter Rhonda Holliday and spouse Brad Craig, Son Darren Whitehair and spouse Kelly. Godson Deon Agnew, Sisters Phyllis Ledbetter, Clairmont, Fla, Dottie Carlson, Clarksburg, WV, Cookie Weaver, Washington, PA and Sharon Locklear of Clarksburg, WV; ten Grandchildren Christina Collett, Matt Holliday, Jessie Craig, Jeremy Craig, Tyler Whitehair, Caitlin Whitehair, Gracie Whitehair, Justine Whitehari, Madeline Renner, and Mar-Kate Thompson; and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by One step- daughter Melissa Whitehair; two sisters, Connie Sprouse and Teresa Guerrero and one brother, Howard Barrett.
He was better known as Eddie. He Served in the United States Navy at Philadelphia, PA. and transferred to Right Patterson airbase as an admiral’s driver for Rear admiral Hines 1964-1965. After his term in the military Eddie was the assistant pastor under William L. Mead at the Deliverance Center in Hepzibah, WV. Elder Holliday had a radio broadcast in the seventy’s on WAJR under the name Holliday gospel hour. Elder Holliday became regularly active in the Ohio district council, Sgt. Of arms of the ODC men’s ministry under Elder Ward. Also, at the state level he was asked to work as an ordained minister on condendral committee by district Elder Snead. And followed through with working with Dr. Jean Massey on the condendral committee until recently. At the regional level, he worked with the southeast brotherhood regional committee, three years as assistant secretary, six years as secretary, and last 15 years as the treasurer at the south East regional brotherhood. Elder Holliday is a member of the temple of Christ in Fairmont, WV. He has held revivals in Cleveland, OH, Niagara Falls, NY and his longest revival was in Portland, OR with Rev Robert Boclair. He was employed at Dennison Dairy in Clarksburg for over 40 years as well at working at Abraham Linc for 11 years.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM District Elder Phyllis Agnew officiating the home going service.
