Edward "Eddie" Deegan Obituary

Edward “Eddie” Curtis Deegan, 80 of Clarksburg passed away at United Hospital in Bridgeport on Monday, January 18, 2021.  Eddie was born September 16, 1940 in Clarksburg, son of the late Edward Iquanus and Milly Maude Bolyard Deegan.  Eddie was preceded in death by his fiancée of forty plus years and the Love of his Life, Deloris “Dodie” B Muscari Alvino on April 17, 2019.  Eddie is survived by his friends and caregivers, Paula Kay (Gainer) Altman of Clarksburg and John Lamp of Clarksburg; Mark Folio, Clarksburg; Anna and Perry Kuhans, Clarksburg; Bob Landis, Buckhannon; David Lipscomb, Clarksburg; Jeanie Lockard, Saint Marys, GA; Bob Ryan, Clarksburg; Karen and Rick Strosnider, White House, OH; Chrissy Vargas, Bridgeport; Larry Verbick, Clarksburg. Eddie graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1959.  He served in the United States Army Reserves for six years in Clarksburg.  He retired from the Clarksburg Water Board on October 8, 1999 as a water plant operator, chief operator and plant superintendent after working forty years and four months. He received the Special Service Award from the Director of the National Weather Service. Eddie loved to eat out and could be seen at several of the different restaurants such as the Parkette, Denny’s, D&P, The Clique Club, Chunki's and many more.  He loved his animals, especially his two Samoyeds, Hemi and Snowball. He enjoyed Dirt Track Racing, NASCAR, Antique Cars/Mopar, collecting guns, trains, stamps, coins, watching car restoration shows, the history channel, sports and the news. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 4-7PM and January 22, 2021 from 9-11AM; Catholic Burial Rites will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father Patsy J. Iaquinta as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Harrison County Humane Society 2450 Saltwell Rd, Shinnston, WV 26431.
