Edward Richard Morningstar

Edward Richard Morningstar, 80, of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on August 5, 1945 in Hagerstown, MD a son of the late George Morningstar and Gertrude Arshelman Morningstar.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Stuller Morningstar whom he married on September 8, 1967.

He is also survived by one Son, Darrell Morningstar and wife Virginia of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Darrell, John, Dillion Morningstar, Destaney Rice, Jeffrey Farney , Samantha Gardner and Chelsea Stacy; great grandchildren, Clara Gardner, Philly Stacy and Thomas Stacy; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris Moser and one brother, Terry Morningstar.

Edward worked as a maintenance man for many years until his retirement in 2012, most recently with ARC. He took pride in his work and was known for his steady, dependable nature. In his free time, Edward enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and dining out, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Quiet by nature, he showed his love through his actions and the time he gave to those closest to him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his craftsmanship, and his deep devotion to his family.
