Dwayne “Ground Hog” Albert Washington, 62, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at his residence. He was born on February 2, 1959 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Charles William Washington and Virginia Clara Lee Washington.
Dwayne is survived by his two daughters, Alexandra “Alex” Jessica Washington (Manuel), Ludwigshafen, Germany, Rose- Anna Bae Washington, Oaxaca, Mexico; two granddaughters, Charlize Klara Washington and Novalee Marie Washington; brother, Charles H Washington, Buckhannon; sister in law, Chieko Abe, Salem OH; nephew, Anthony L “Tony” Washington, niece, Tammy A Washington, nephew, Gary S Meeks, and great nephew, Victor M Meeks, all of Clarksburg; cousins, Norman Eugene Mitchell, Germany, Shannon and Michael Mitchell, Florida, several cousins and special lifelong friends.
In addition to his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Lee Washington; one sister, Baby Washington.
Dwayne has worked as an CNA at Heartland in Clarksburg and Sunbridge Nursing in Salem, and also worked at North Pole Ice, Julio’s Café, Greenbrier Motel and maintenance at the WVU Stadium. He was an avid Cleveland Pro Sports Fan and enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He loved talking to his daughters and talked about them all the time.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 3:00PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00PM with Pastor Franklin Hairston officiating.
