Dorthea “Dot” Mae James, 74 of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2020 following a long illness. She was born November 6, 1945 in Salem, OH, daughter of the late Johnnie and Marian L. Norton Delaney.
Dot was a CNA and had retired from UHC with 20 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and cooking. She attended Upper Room Church in Adamston. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rondal Lee James; daughter, Rhonda “Penny” Annette Mayo of Weston; grandchildren, Brandi O’Meara and Edwin “Eddie” Mayo Jr. of Weston; great grandchildren, Hailey, Tyson, Jaxon and Kylah; brother, Johnnie Delaney Jr. and wife Debra of Barrackville, two sisters, Vickie Cottrell and husband Rick of Mannington and Candy Echard of Wadestown; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennie Martin James.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr./Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM with proper distancing and face mask required. Services will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Davis Funeral Home with Pastor DJ Hoff officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
